The Carpathian Mountains rise dramatically across the horizon, offering a breathtaking backdrop that invites exploration and adventure.

While we would love to showcase all the wonders Romania has to offer, we have carefully selected a range of exciting activities to immerse students in the charm of this extraordinary nation. With stunning vistas at every turn, captivating legends to uncover, and a profound connection to nature to embrace, an expedition in Romania is sure to ignite a passion for the great outdoors.

  • Day 1 - Arrival on Bucharest

    The team must arrive at the airport three hours before their departure. Upon landing in Bucharest, travel to Busteni. This small mountain town is the starting point for many people exploring Bucegi Natural Park. The team will have time to explore Busteni or visit Peles Castle. Overnight at a campsite as you prepare for your trek.

  • Day 2 -4 Trek through Bucegi Natural Park.

    The team is set to embark on a three-day trek through the pristine Bucegi Natural Park. This adventure will offer a splendid opportunities to witness Romania's unrivalled natural beauty. The trek's notable attractions encompass reaching the summit of Omu, relishing awe-inspiring vistas of Pele Castle, all while staying in charming mountain huts. At the end of the trek we will arrive at your campsite in Bran.

  • Day 5 - Bear Sanctury

    Today the team will visit Libearty Bear Sanctuary, the largest brown bear sanctuary in the world, in the nearby town of Zarnesti. Spend the morning learning about the work at the sanctuary and then in the afternoon visit Bran Castle, famously known as the inspiration for Dracula! Explore the castle grounds before heading into town to immerse yourself in history and architecture of the region whilst browsing delightful market stalls and shops.

  • Day 6 - Last day

    Say goodbye to Bran and make the journey to Brasov where you will have the rest of the day to explore this medieval Saxon town. The team can hike to the top of Mount Tape to take in stunning 360 degree views of the city, complete with its own “Hollywood” style sign. Celebrate your expedition and everything the team have achieved with a traditional Romanian dinner.

  • Day 7 - Back home

    Say goodbye to Brasov and take the train back to Bucharest for your flight back to the UK.
