What are the highlights?
Fly to Marrakesh and transfer to a nearby riad where you will be spending your first night in Morocco. Spend some time getting accustomed to the north African heat or maybe even explore Marrakesh.
Transfer to Asni, a small town in the foothills of the mighty Atlas Mountains, where you will be met
by your guides and mules before beginning your trek. This will be your first introduction to traditional Berber hospitality. Trek through Imnane Valley, stopping for lunch along the way before arriving in the Berber village of Imsker where you will spend the night.
After breakfast, leave Imsker and trek through the stunning mountain pass of Tizi n'Oukaimeden. Take in the spectacular vistas of the High Atlas surrounding you before descending through the valley, following mule trails through fragrant walnut and apple groves to Ouanskra village. Overnight in the village.
Today is an early start as you aim to arrive at your gîte for mid afternoon. Start trekking early in the morning and reach your maximum altitude (2330m) soon after as you reach Tizi n'Tamatert. Here you will be rewarded with panoramic views of nearby valleys and surrounding mountains. Begin your descent to Imlil as you pass through groves of walnut trees lining the footpath. If there is time when you arrive in Imlil, there may be some time to explore before making the 45 minute walk to your gîte in Armed.
After breakfast, return to Imlil on foot and meet the bus taking you back to Marrakesh for your final night in Morocco. Celebrate everything you have achieved with a team meal at one of the many eateries in Jemaa el-Fnaa. The souks of Marrakesh are the perfect place to practice your haggling skills and grab some last minute souvenirs before returning to your riad.
It's time to say goodbye to Morocco as you head to the airport for your flight home.
